BOARD OF DIRECTORS OPEN MEETING MINUTES
MONDAY, JANUARY 26,2009
6:30 PM AT THE DESERT RIDGE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Board Members Present: Jodi Fialkin and Terry Cunningham
Management Present: Mike Miller, Community Association Manager, Rossmar & Graham
Guests: Sexton Pest Control and South State Towing
Call to Order: Jodi Fialkin called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m,
Guest Speakers
- Sexton Pest Control - Asset will no longer be providing services to Tatum Village. Sexton Pest Control is going to be retained to care for the landscaping as well as provide exterminating services to the community. The homeowners will be offered the option of having their homes sprayed as well at a $10 fee if they schedule service when Sexton is already out on the property. Sexton explained that they did the install on the original landscaping and is also offering to provide service to individual homes at $25 for the front yard and $10 for the rear yard.
- South State Towing - Abby Hoffstetter explained that South State has been retained due to excessive non-compliance in parking. She briefly explained the services South State will be providing to the community.
Open Forum
Discussion regarding the rules for discarding cigarette butts and if there is a rule regarding having the gate left open for an open house.
- It was reported from a homeowner that the water pressure it too high. The homeowner was asked to contact the City of Phoenix
Approval of November Minutes
Motion by Terry Cunningham, second by Jodi Fialkin to approve the November 24, 2008 open meeting minutes as written and submitted. Motion carried unanimously.
Financial Update
Treasurers Report - The December 2008 year-end financials and the 2008 Budget Comparison report were reviewed for the homeowners present by Jodi Fialkin.
Continuing Business
Committee Reports
- Architectural - The Committee has discussed that large trees should not be planted in the back yards due to the possibility of root damage to the pipes.
- Landscape/Pool - The Committee has retained Sexton for the landscaping in the community.
- Social - It was reported that a garage sale will be held on March 14Ih & 15 along with a bake sale in one of the ramadas. Homeowners are to contact Jodi Fialkin if they are interested in participating. The Committee is also going to monitor dog waste within the community and the dog station supplies. The Committee will also assist in coordinating the pest control of individual homes between the homeowners and Sexton. The winner of the Holiday Decorating Contest was Kathy Foreman.
- Block Watch - Once the Rules and Regulations have been received, the Block Watch Committee will assist in enforcing those guidelines.
Community Improvements - two dog stations have been added, the bulletin and mail box are up; three new spring gate closures have been placed on the gates; there is now a lock for the pool equipment; markings around the pool to identify a four-foot perimeter and ilie wall has been repaired by the canal gate.
Painting addresses on curbs - the addresses will be painted on both the front aud back curbs of the homes; some curbs will he painted red and signs will be posted and a speed limit sign will be put at the front gate.
New Business
- Solicitors on Property - signs are currently on order.
- The next Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for February 23,2009 at 6:30 p.m.
There being no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:51 pm
