Parking

Parking is a hot topic in Tatum Village. When you compare our community with our "sister" community at Willow Run (just on the other side of the 51) you will notice that Willow Run have wider streets because they do not have the border of trees and plants that we have between our sidewalks and the road. This border of trees adds great value to our community but at the price of narrower roads and with that parking problems.

The CC&R's, Bylaws, and Rules & Regs already cover parking in great detail and it is not our intent to cover that here. Our governing documents clearly state where you may and may not park but the issue that we face is policing and enforcing the rules and the opinions about what we should do to solve the parking issues are many and diverse.

As such, we've decided to present all the options that have been put forward by community members and allow the community to vote on how they would like us to handle the parking situation in the future. These are the options that we have so far. If you have another option then please send it to tatumvillagehoa@gmail.com and we will add it and the community will vote on it when this is sent out.

  • Do nothing
    • (The CC&R's provide that you can report a car in violation to the management company and the owner will be given a violation notice.)
  • One way streets
    • (Create a one-way street system so that cars do not have a passing problem when cars are parked on both sides of the street. How would we enforce this?)
  • Park only on the south side of the street.
    • (People parked on the north side would be given a violation. How would this be enforced?)
  • Park only on the north side of the street.
    • (People parked on the north side would be given a violation. How would this be enforced?)
  • Hire a towing company to monitor and tow cars in violation.
  • Hire a company to place boots on wheels of cars in violation.
  • Car registration - all owners register their cars in order to be able to easily keep tabs on violators.
  • Allow street parking only on the wider access streets. These are 44 St. and 43rd Way between E. Renee Dr and E. Rosemonte Dr.
